Charlie Raposo '14 selected for the British Junior Team

GMVS Grads Named Captains of Harvard Ski Team

May 8, 2011 –   The Harvard Ski team has recently named GMVS Graduates, Caroline McHugh of Warren, Vermont and Andrew Spielvogel of Lexington, Massachusetts as captains. Caroline McHugh was the valedictorian of the GMVS Class of 2008 and is currently completing her junior year as an Environmental Science and Public Policy major at Harvard.

Ryan Mooney '14 - Representing the United States Wins 2011 Whistler Cup GS

WHISTLER, BC (April 10) – Green Mountain Valley School's Ryan Mooney (Charlemont, MA) closed the 2011 Whistler Cup with a win Sunday topping the men's giant slalom field in Whistler. Mooney was joined on the podium by fellow American Aspen Valley Ski Club's Colby Lane (Carbondale, CO) with bronze.

After sitting in second behind Austria's Marco Lander after the first run, Mooney laid down the fastest second run time to edge out Lander for the gold. Mooney topped the field by just two-hundredths with Lander in second and Lane in third.

Hall of Fame to Honor Daron Rahlves '91

March 21, 2011 ~ U.S. Ski Team stars Daron Rahlves '91, Bobby Cochran and Muffy Davis who will be inducted into the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame Sat., Apr. 2 in Sun Valley. It's all a part of Ski Heritage Week in Sun Valley where hundreds of sport enthusiasts will gather for parties, skiing and taking a look back at our sport. Tickets are still available for the event, which includes a long weekend of activities. Let us know if you're planning to attend.

All Academic Intercollegiate Ski Team honors 7 GMVS Graduates

March 15, 2011 ~ The United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association has presented 7 GMVS graduates with the prestigious All American award.  To qualify for the award,  athletes must have a 3.5 gpa in the fall semester and have competed in the regional championships.

Danny Duffy '12 Wins J2 Nationals GS

March 4, 2010 ~It was a good day for GMVS and the East here in Sugarloaf at the J2 Nationals. In the Men’s GS Danny Duffy lit up the second run and took the win, coming from an 8th place tie on run one. Drew Duffy also had a great second run moving from 14th to 7th overall fDanny on the Podiumor the day. Kendall Pasteris and Trevor Harnsberger landed in 34th and 35th overall. Trevor came from start number 73.
