Alpine Update - European Report

February 2, 2011 ~We still have folks plying the slopes of Europe, led by PG Chris Frank, whose 3rd-place in a Super G in Meribel, France got him back on the podium as he enters the second half of the season. Also on the Continent are several younger skiers (in addition to the J3/4 trip that is just finishing up in Austria) attending junior events. At the World Juniors in Crans Montana, Switzerland are Ghassan Gedeon-Achi ’11, representing Lebanon, and Kristin Sweeney ‘13, representing Ireland. Later in the month, a trio of J3s will be at Stari Vrh, Slovenia in the 35th Pokal Loka, a competition featuring some of the top J3-age racers in the world. Ryan Mooney and Lexi Skovran will be 2 of the 6 athletes representing the US, while Great Britain will be watching Charlie Raposo take to the slopes. The entire US contingent will be hosted by GMVS at the Kössen house before the competition, and will train at our various venues in the area in preparation for the big event.
